President Nancy tested out the new microphone at today's morning meeting as she updated us on all that is happening within our club following the Board meeting!
Nancy thanked Mike and Rowena Bell for hosting the potluck last week where we were able to test out a potential online option for our well known Trivia Night event. We discussed ways to keep the integity of the event while moving forward to a more modern system to our popular fundraiser. Nancy shared that our donation to the District 5340 auction netted $2500 to Polio Plus. (With the 2X1 match from the Gates Foundation, this gives $7500 to Polio Plus.) The lucky bidder won ten seats aboard the Bill of Rights tall sailing ship for the Parade of Lights in December. Jeff suggested we start re-using the CVESD site as a drop off for our monthly service donations as it gets people together and is easier to make the delivery. In October we will be supporting the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. Stay tuned for more info!
